Taking Care of Tomorrow:
What the Transfer of Wealth Means for Your Organization
Recently the Austin Community Foundation commissioned, along with the San Antonio Community Foundation and the Waco Foundation, a study of the estimated transfer of wealth from one generation to the next in the region. The study reports that over the next 50 years, the transfer of wealth from one generation to another in Austin will create a unique opportunity and is the largest under-developed financial resource in our community. What would happen if just 5% of these assets were donated to local charities—or invested in endowments for our future? How can you help your nonprofit organization benefit from this local giving revolution?

Chaparral Eurythmy is a small performing arts group affiliated with the Austin Waldorf School. I am one of the founding members. The last SFCC workshop I attended was on grant writing. Since then, we are very happy to report, our group has become a Sponsored Project of the Austin Creative Alliance. In addition, our art is 100 years old this year, and our historic Centennial Performances were supported by the City of Austins’ Cultural Arts Division with a Community Initiatives Grant. Thank you for the SFCC workshop, guidance and encouragement! - Director, Austin
