Rebecca brings more than 25 years of experience in organizational change, strategic planning, fundraising, program development, project management, public relations and communications to Seeds for Change. She has a keen business sense, and enthusiasm and passion for building sustainable, impactful organizations and communities.
A strategic thinker and seasoned fundraiser, Rebecca has worked with both small and large organizations in a variety of roles, including director of institutional relations for Lincoln Park Zoo (Chicago) and executive director of Victoria Preservation, Inc. (Victoria, TX). Most recently, she was executive director and chief development officer for the Friends of the Texas Historical Commission. She has built organizations from the ground up, managed a number of capital campaigns, and developed and written strategic plans, development plans, marketing collateral, and successful fundraising proposals.
Rebecca received a bachelor of arts in history and master of business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Rebecca’s many interests include gardening, yoga, fitness, historic preservation, land conservation and writing. She is a passionate photographer and enjoys traveling to far off places to capture the essence of the local people, their communities and their daily lives. What she loves the most is sharing her passion for travel and photography with her nieces and nephews, and spending time at her family’s ranch. A native of Yoakum, Texas, she lives in Austin, where she is also a volunteer with Pease Park Conservancy and member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
